Today, The Great Escape announces desert blues punk band Songhoy Blues as the second Spotlight show at Old Market, supported by Malian singer Fatoumata Diawara whose words of protest and struggle are sure to strike a chord with audiences everywhere. Having fled their homes due to regional conflict, their incredible backstory aids the stunning lost sound of Northern Mali that placed them firmly on the map.
An additional 100 artists will join the festival line-up including fiery West London MC A J Tracey, Berlin street performer turned folk sensation Alice Phoebe Lou and rising YouTube star and indie songwriter Alec Benjamin.

Expect clanging three-chord roars from LA punk-grrrls Bleached, dreamy pop from Postiljonen and jolting hip-hop tempos from teenage producer Iglooghost.
Grime veteran, and one half of East London squad Newham Generals, D Double E joins fearless rising stars Elf Kid and Jammz, as well as BBK old-timer Frisco, and Lady Leshurr, who is championing the rise of female rappers, for a much needed dose of fierce, gritty urban rhymes.

Self-described as ‘gritty, ferociously heavy indie rock & roll out of the mist of blues history’, Band of Skulls will perform their much-anticipated new material at the festival this year.
The daughter of critically acclaimed Neneh Cherry and producer Cameron McVey, Mabel will break out with her own heartfelt, vulnerable melodies at this years festival, as well as shape-shifting experimental pop act Lewis Del Mar, Anglo-Franco duo POSTAAL and charming Irish folk-pop two piece Little Hours.

The youngest recipient of GRAZIA’s Woman of the Year award, Ruth Koleva will also bring Bulgarian neo-soul to the stage.

Scottish folk singer James Yorkston has teamed up with Indian sarangi player Suhail Yusuf Khan and double bassist, producer and composer Jon Thorne to create the exciting collaborative project Yorkston Thorne Khan fusing jazz, Indian folk and Celtic harmonies.
Effortlessly smooth sounds and gentle whispers will be provided by 20 year-old Londoner Samm Henshaw, emotionally honest and captivating lyrics from folk/pop singer Stephanie Rainey and haunting yet hopeful confessionals from BANNERS.
Samm Henshaw said: “Myself and The Sound Experiment [are] extremely honoured to play at this fantastic festival!”
