WOMAD 2014, which took place in Charlton Park, July 24 – 28 was a record breaking year with tickets selling out for the first time since its move from the original site in Reading.
40,000 festival-goers brought the site to full capacity across the four days and were treated to 184 performances by 106 artists from 42 countries including Mali, Somalia, Ukraine, Iran, Malaysia, Turkey and Cuba.
The festival organisers attribute the sell-out to the extraordinary sunshine and stand-out line-up.
New additions to the WOMAD site included Bowers + Wilkins sponsored SOCIETY OF SOUND stage, a culinary journey at the Taste The World Restaurant, as well as a number of Art at WOMAD installations, Ecotricity in the Arboretum and more.
Dates for WOMAD 2015 to be announced soon.
